Steve waved his hands, giggling.
"Daddy." With a soft thud, he threw himself into Theodore's arms, laughing with pure delight.
Theodore was deeply moved. He raised his hand and gently patted Steve's back. "Steve, I told you before. I'm Uncle Theodore. CallUncle." "Daddy. Daddy." Theodore felt a pang in his heart, and tears began to stream down his face uncontrollably.
"Why don't you listen? I..." He wanted to say he wasn't his father, but hearing Steve call him "Daddy" stirred a selfish longing within him to play that role, even if just for a moment.
"Steve." Rosalie walked over, holding medicine and water. "Why are you lying on top of him?" Theodore immediately closed his eyes upon hearing her voice, pretending to still be unconscious.

She folded a towel and placed it gently on his forehead.
Steve yawned and flopped onto the bed, as though he was about to fall asleep. Rosalie moved to the other side of the bed, adjusted Steve's sleeping posture, and tucked him in. "Alright, you stay with him tonight." Steve mumbled softly and slowly closed his eyes.
Standing by the bed and watching them both, Rosalie suddenly felt a wave of sadness wash over her.
The next morning.
Theodore opened his eyes and saw Rosalie changing Steve's diaper by the bed.
Seeing him awake, Rosalie instinctively smiled. "You're awake. I'll take your temperature in a moment to see if the fever has gone down." After quickly finishing the diaper change, Rosalie pulled open a drawer, took out a disposable thermometer, and placed it in Theodore's mouth.
"Hold it there. I'll be back shortly. I need to make sformula for the baby." Rosalie turned and left the room.
With the thermometer still in his mouth, Theodore turned his head to look at Steve beside him.
Steve giggled, his bright eyes sparkling. "Daddy." "Steve." Theodore started to speak, causing the thermometer to fall onto the bed. It seemed Steve remembered.
"Rose, this child calls everyone Daddy. Don't take it to heart." Theodore, however, reassured Rosalie instead.
